Delivery
Delivery Information
IMPORTANT!
Delivery is hand unload to kerbside or unloaded with a forklift. This will depend on the quantity of cabins being delivered from Germany. If we have a full load the delivery will be by forklift. Partloads or individual deliveries will be hand unload by the customer. In this case at least 2 people are needed to help unload the logs.
German cabins are delivered to the customer on a large arctic truck direct from Germany. Delivery is between 8am and 8pm but we try to give you an AM/PM slot. The regular truck is16.5m long, 18m if carrying a 'piggyback' forklift.
If the property is not suitable for delivery by arctic, the cabin can be delivered to another location specified by the customer. Any secondary deliveries must be arranged and paid for by the customer. Some customers have hired smaller trucks or borrowed farm trailers, and have met the delivery in a convenient location to transfer the load. Please call to discuss any delivery problems as we may be able to help you to find a solution.
If delivery is by forklift, the road must be wide enough for the driver to maneuver the forklift with your largest pallet. This will be at least 600mm larger than the longest wall of your cabin, i.e. if you have a 5.5m wide cabin your largest pack will be approx 6.1m long by 1m high and 1m wide. The forklift will carry the packages so that they are sticking out sideways, so the width needed for access is at least the size of the large pallet.
Delivery is to kerbside at the nearest accessible place. The driver may enter your property to deliver the pallets if you request it, but he is not obliged to do so if he feels that access is not suitable. We are not liable for any damage made by the driver to your property.
If there is no access or you do not wish for the forklift to enter your property, the driver will deliver the pallets onto the highway as close to your property as possible. It is then the customer's responsibility to unwrap the pallets and transport the logs etc. by hand into their property.
PLEASE NOTE:
It is the customer's responsibility to discuss any likely delivery problems BEFORE placing an order.
A re-delivery will cost a minimum of £1,000, so please check your access carefully!
